My Name

Everybody has a name. Each name represents the person who is named after it. Some names are very general and some names are very special. I am one of the exceptional ones, so I have my gorgeous name too.
My name is Wu, Huiping. I got it from my beloved grandfather. Wu is my family name. It was inherited by every generation of our family. My mother said when I was born; my grandfather was the eldest of my whole family. In Chinese culture, he was also the most powerful person in my family. He was really educated. Therefore he had right to name me. I admired grandfather for giving me a nice name.
Sometimes some words are very special. They have many different meanings. Sometimes, the name represents the hope of that person to the named. People wish his descendants to be successful in life. So they named a hope for them.
In Chinese culture, Hui means wise and ping means to be graceful. I am a girl. I was sure my beloved grandfather wished I would be wise and graceful. As the hope he gave it to me, I really want to achieve it.
I loved people calling me Huiping. It sounds very nice. I love it so much. Sometimes my friends would like to call me ping because they thought that would be more kindly. Probably! I really want to thank my grandfather for giving me nice name. I wish the hope that my grandfather gave to me can come true.
